From the office

Student sign in/out - Parents will have to come in to sign their student(s) in or out of school. If someone other than the parent is picking up the child, parents must notify the office prior to the pick up and that individual will be asked for identification.

Please allow our staff time to read through messages, emails, and Seesaw notifications throughout the day. While we may not be able to respond immediately, we will ensure the message reaches the student. It's especially helpful to use Seesaw to communicate with the classroom teacher and the office about any changes to before- or after-school arrangements, as well as absences.

Parent Teacher Conference sign up is open from October 1st- October 10th in Family Access. Directions on how to sign up are shown below.

Please remember to Seesaw the main office, call or email the office when your student(s) are out for any reason. 920-929-2835 or zehrenk@fonddulac.k12.wi.us.

Note from Principal Prozanski

Happy Fall, Roberts Families! 🍂

It’s hard to believe we’ve already completed the first month of the school year! During this time, our focus has been on teaching expectations, building routines, and completing our beginning-of-the-year assessments. Thanks to this work, students are now settling into the rhythm of school and are ready to dive deeper into learning.

October brings one of the most important times of the year: Parent-Teacher Conferences! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, celebrate your scholar’s strengths, and learn about the specific areas they’ll be working on this year. Our students are also setting their own goals and identifying the action steps needed to reach them. Family support is essential in helping these goals become reality.

You make a big difference every day! Simple things like making sure your child gets to bed on time, starting the day with breakfast (at home or at school), reading together, or talking with them about their day all strengthen their success. These small but powerful habits build a foundation for learning and show your child that school is important.

We hold high expectations for all of our scholars, and we are proud of the positive start we’ve made this year. Together, we are building momentum that will carry us toward a year full of growth and achievement.

Enjoy the beauty of October, as these warm days will soon give way to crisp fall weather. Thank you for your partnership in supporting our scholars every step of the way.

Message from Mrs. Jones, TOSA

Hello Roberts Families!

Please take time to familiarize yourself with the update district attendance policy and reach out if you have any questions. Positive attendance is important to academic success.

Attendance Matters - FAQ

How does the FDLSD define “absent”? An absence is defined as missing any part of or all of a school day. In alignment with Wisconsin State Law, absences are counted by number of occurrences, not counted only by days.

What is the difference between an excused absence and an unexcused absence? An excused absence is when a parent/guardian provides a reason for their child missing part of/all of a school day. An unexcused absence is when a child is missing part of/all of a school day without parental/guardian permission.

If my child is missing school because of an appointment, is it important to get a note from my child’s provider? YES. Any absence due to an appointment (i.e. dentist, doctor, etc.) should include a note/documentation from the provider with the child’s name, date/time of the appointment, and/or any follow up details/information.

What does it mean to be “truant”? A student is considered truant if he/she is absent without an acceptable excuse for any part or all of a school day.

What does it mean to be “habitually truant”? A student is considered to be habitually truant when he/she is unexcused absent for any part of/all of 5 or more school days in one semester.

How many days of absence can my child have? Don’t think in days, think in incidents (because an absence is defined as missing any part of or all of a school day). Parents/Guardians can excuse up to 10 incidents of absence during an entire school year. This is not the goal, but anything beyond 10 incidents of absence can result in any/all absences becoming unexcused as determined by the school attendance team.

How will I know if my child is unexcused absent? NEW/UPDATED for 2025-2026 Parents/Guardians will receive a text message and an email when their child is unexcused. For a beginning of the day unexcused absence, this alert will be sent by 10:30am; for the rest of the day, this alert will be sent by 4:30pm. If a parent/guardian believes the unexcused absence was a mistake or had failed to contact school, please follow up immediately with your child’s school.

What is an attendance letter and when would I get one? NEW/UPDATED for 2025-2026 Specifically for unexcused absences, families will receive an email, a Skyward Family Access post AND a letter in the US mail if/when their child reaches 5 and 10 incidents.

For 5, 10, and all subsequent incidents of absence - excused and/or unexcused - families will receive an email notification and a Skyward Family Access post with a letter.

What do I do if I get an attendance letter? Read through it. Check your child’s attendance records in Skyward Family Access. Make any possible changes to reduce and/or eliminate any incidents when your child misses part of or all of a school day.  Your child’s school attendance team will review your child’s attendance once a letter is issued. If they have concerns and/or find it necessary to set up an attendance contract, they will contact you. You can always reach out to your child’s school for help, support, and/or to develop a plan for moving forward.
